fresh strawberry slices or mint leaves
optional, for garnish
Instructions
Rinse the uncooked white rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then place it in a bowl.
Add 4 cups of water to the bowl with the rice and allow it to soak for at least 4 hours or overnight for better flavor extraction.
Once the rice has soaked, drain the water and transfer the rice to a blender.
Add the fresh strawberries, 4 cups of cold water, whole milk (or almond milk), granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon to the blender.
Blend the mixture on high until smooth and creamy, ensuring the rice and strawberries are fully broken down.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove any solids, pressing down gently to extract all the liquid.
Taste the strained mixture and adjust the sweetness with more sugar if needed.
Refrigerate the agua fresca for at least 1 hour to chill before serving.
Serve cold over ice cubes if desired, garnished with fresh strawberry slices or mint leaves.
Notes
For a vegan option, use almond milk instead of whole milk. Adjust the sugar to your preferred sweetness level.
