1

1/2
tsp
salt
1
tbsp
brown sugar
1
large egg
1
cup
milk
1/4
cup
vegetable oil
1
tsp
vanilla extract
1/2
cup
chopped pecans
Cooking spray or additional oil for the waffle maker
Instructions
Preheat your mini waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar until well combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.
Fold in the chopped pecans gently into the batter.
Lightly grease the waffle maker with cooking spray or oil.
Pour a small amount of batter onto the preheated waffle maker, enough to cover the surface but not overflow.
Close the waffle maker and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the waffles and repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the waffle maker as needed.
Serve warm with maple syrup, fresh fruit, or your favorite toppings.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
