  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack with olive oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the baking powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, ground black pepper, and salt.
  • Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  • Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack, ensuring they are not touching each other for even crisping.
  • Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking to ensure both sides become crispy and golden brown.
  • While the wings are baking, prepare the BBQ glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the halal BBQ sauce and honey, stirring until smooth and warmed through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Once the wings are fully cooked and crispy, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Using a brush or spoon, coat each wing generously with the BBQ glaze.
  • Return the wings to the oven and broil on high for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the glaze, keeping a close watch to prevent burning.
  • Remove from the oven and let the wings cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the wings are completely dry before seasoning. You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
