Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top. Lightly grease the rack with olive oil.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the baking powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, ground black pepper, and salt.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack, ensuring they are not touching each other for even crisping.
Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking to ensure both sides become crispy and golden brown.
While the wings are baking, prepare the BBQ glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the halal BBQ sauce and honey, stirring until smooth and warmed through. Remove from heat and set aside.
Once the wings are fully cooked and crispy, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Using a brush or spoon, coat each wing generously with the BBQ glaze.
Return the wings to the oven and broil on high for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the glaze, keeping a close watch to prevent burning.
Remove from the oven and let the wings cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure the wings are completely dry before seasoning. You can substitute honey with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
