dried Italian seasoning

ciabatta bread or sourdough bread

fresh mozzarella cheese

tomato

fresh basil leaves

balsamic glaze

unsalted butter
softened
Instructions
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.
Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thin strips.
Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
On the unbuttered side of two bread slices, layer sliced chicken, fresh mozzarella, tomato slices, basil leaves, and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
Preheat a panini press or skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, place a heavy pan on top of the sandwich to press it down.
Cook the panini for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Remove from heat, slice the panini in half, and serve warm.
Notes
You can substitute sourdough bread with ciabatta for a different texture. Add extra balsamic glaze for more flavor.
